2010-2011 Season

We open our 85th Season with Mahler's Fifth Symphony - the most requested piece by our musicians since I arrived in 1997. Join us in September to hear this amazing work, followed by four fabulous concerts when we welcome outstanding guest artists Di Wu, Cathy Rund, Paul Bro, and Kate Hamilton for more Great Music - Close to Home.

THSO presents Free Family Time Concert! Bring the kids for a Free Family Time Concert on Saturday, September 25th at 2:00 PM presented by the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra.

An abbreviated presentation of selections from the regular Saturday night concert “Mahler's Powerful Fifth Symphony” will be held at ISU’s Tilson Auditorium.

Music Director David Bowden will make this family event especially appealing to the younger crowd to inspire young families with children to enjoy live classical music performed by a professional orchestra.

Mahler's Powerful Fifth Symphony with the Terre Haute Symphony on Saturday, September 25. Led by music director Dr. David Bowden, the concert begins at 7:30pm in Tilson Auditorium on the campus of Indiana State University.

Our season begins with a high energy colorful march by Berlioz ands highlights an absolutely captivating instrument from times past called the serpent. This unusual instrument will be played by the Boston Symphony's Bass Trombonist, Douglas Yeo. The concert concludes with one of the most exhilarating and powerful orchestral works ever written, Mahler's tribute to love and life.
