Exploring Concert Repertoire - Music for Buster Keaton’s “The General”

Join Dr. Roger Kalia, Music Director of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, as he delves into the art of combining score and cinema for the THSO’s upcoming special presentation of Buster Keaton’s “The General” accompanied by live orchestra. This screening in Rose-Hulman’s Hatfield Hall will feature the iconic silent film set to a score composed by Andrew Earle Simpson performed by musicians from the THSO. Join Dr. Kalia as he presents on the history of film scoring and the musical processes required to make these types of artistic collaborations come to life on the silver screen.
