THSO Announces 2026-2027 Season: Centennial Sounds

The Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Roger Kalia proudly announce the 2026-2027 Season titled Centennial Sounds, marking 100 years of symphonic music since the orchestra’s founding in 1926! This landmark season brings together beloved masterworks, exceptional guest artists, and programs that honor both tradition and innovation, all while celebrating the community that has supported the THSO for a century.

The season opens in high drama and lyric beauty with Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, featuring violinist Eunice Kim, followed by the emotional depth of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6. November’s genre‑blending program pairs Brahms’ radiant Symphony No. 2 with mandolin virtuoso Solly Burton and friends, who bring Bluegrass energy to the concert hall. In December, the orchestra marks our 100th anniversary with The Roaring Holidays, a sparkling, 1920s‑inspired celebration featuring Terre Haute native Caroline Goodwin. Spring brings Game On! Music of Sports and Champions*, led by Principal Guest Conductor and Conductor Laureate David Bowden, before the season concludes with a glamorous masquerade‑themed finale spotlighting Principal Flute Angela Reynolds and concluding in thrilling fashion with Berlioz’s electrifying Symphonie Fantastique. Join us as we celebrate our history, artistry, and an exciting future ahead!

*Please note a change in our April 3, 2027 concert repertoire from what was originally announced on March 28, 2026 due to a scheduling conflict. We are excited to welcome guest conductor David Bowden for “Game On! The Music of Sports & Champions.” We have moved “The Triple & The Transcendent” featuring Vaughan Williams’ Symphony No. 5 and the Rawlins Piano Trio performing the Beethoven Triple Concerto to our 2027-2028 Season with Music Director Roger Kalia.
