The Wabash Valley Community Foundation (WVCF) has awarded the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra a generous COVID-19 matching grant of $10,000 to continue supporting the THSO’s mission to provide Great Music! Close to Home in the Wabash Valley. The purpose of the grant was to provide organizations in Clay, Sullivan, and Vigo counties with a tool to assist in fundraising as they seek to recover from the adverse financial effects that the pandemic has had on their organizational budgets.

Baritone Rick Vale will join the THSO singing holiday favorites such as The First Noel, O Holy Night, and Angels We Have Heard on High. Terre Haute native and soprano Caroline Goodwin also takes the stage to perform Adele’s “Laughing Song” from Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, a New Year’s celebration musical theater work. The concert also features an exciting new Hanukkah piece by Peter Jaffe.

Read MoreThe Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra is delighted to present Brahms & Beach on November 6th at 7:30 PM at Tilson Auditorium. Concert repertoire includes Hector Berlioz’s overture to his opera Béatrice et Bénedict, Johannes Brahms’ Concerto for Violin and Cello (fondly known as the Double Concerto) with violinist and former THSO Associate Concertmaster Benjamin Hoffman and his sister and cellist Natania Hoffman. The THSO will close the evening with Amy Beach’s superb “Gaelic” Symphony. Preceding the concert will be the return of the THSO’s Supper at the Symphony! Indiana State University President, Deborah Curtis, is also pleased to host a reception following the concert in the Heritage Lounge of Tirey Hall.
