Bourbon and Blues Tasting Event Returns to Terre Haute on August 30

The Terre Haute Symphony and Labor Link bring Bourbon & Blues to Hulman Center on Friday August 30, 6:30pm-9:30pm, featuring St. Louis Blues artist Brian Curran alongside Solly Burton and Brent McPike, bourbon tastings from 15 vendors, a buffet catered by Butta’s Better BBQ, and a cash bar with special event cocktails by The Verve. Guests will also be able to browse a silent auction with bourbon baskets, select a mystery gift at the Bourbon Pull, or purchase your favorite product. All proceeds from the event directly benefit the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra’s mission of providing Great Music! Close to Home in Terre Haute and the Wabash Vally.

The Texas Tenors Return to Terre Haute to Perform with the THSO on April 27th

The Texas Tenors join the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra at 7:30pm on April 27th at Tilson Auditorium in a unique blend of country, classical, Broadway, and current pop music with breathtaking vocals, humor, and a touch of cowboy charm. Since appearing on America’s Got Talent in 2009, the group has released 5 albums, 2 PBS specials, 4 DVDs, and multiple singles that have earned them 3 Emmy Awards, multiple #1 debut albums on the Billboard Charts, and an induction into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022.

Terre Haute Symphony League Hosts Artistry in Sound Fundraiser for THSO at Swope Art Museum

On Sunday April 14, 2024, at 2:00pm, the Terre Haute Symphony Leagues will share a unique fundraiser called Artistry in Sound featuring a musical recital performed by the Angelus Duo (harp and flute) centered around Paul Jenkins’ painting Phenomena Near Baber Woods on display at The Swope Art Museum. Attendees will be able to view the painting as they listen to the Angelus Duo’s carefully programmed performance. The peak of the recital will showcase the world-premiere of “…yet so close” written by Terre Haute native and award-winning composer Jack Nesser. Nesser’s original composition is inspired by Jenkins’ painting and shares a musical reflection of the artwork. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar catered by The Saratoga will be available starting at 2pm. The performance will start at 2:30pm and last until 3:30pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the musicians and composer following the performance until 4pm.

On April 6, 2024, at 7:30pm, the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra presents Music of the Heavens featuring music from Star Wars, Apollo 13, Star Trek, Holst’s The Planets, The Mandalorian, E.T. and more to kick of the Total Solar Eclipse weekend in Terre Haute. Audiences will enjoy their favorite space-inspired music complete with fully integrated video projections created by José Francisco Salgado for an out-of-this-world experience!
