The THSO Centennial Gala took place in O’Shaugnessy Hall at St.-Mary-of-the-Woods, last Thursday, September 10, 2026. I am pleased to say that it was a huge success! The sellout crowd arrived with their 1920s costumes and a buzz of enthusiastic energy. Executive Director Sammy Johnson-Helms and I served as emcees, and our comments celebrated the century now past and looked forward to a new century to come. The THSO chamber orchestra performed eight numbers, alternately led by Music Director Roger Kalia and Principal Guest Conductor David Bowden. We set a fundraising goal for the night of $26,000 (for “1926-2026”) to support our education and engagement projects… and reached it right at the end of the event. That final cheer from the crowd was a thrilling end to a spectacular evening!
There has been no blogpost here in the last month because all of us in the THSA have been working overtime preparing for the Gala. Things should return to normal here soon! You can look forward to blogposts resuming in the next weeks, including one from our “twin sister” arts organization: the Community Theatre of Terre Haute! CTTH are holding theirCentennial Gala on September 19th!
In the meantime, enjoy this photo gallery from the event!
