THSO & ISU School of Music Partner with Terre Haute Children’s Museum for Instrument Petting Zoo
The Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra (THSO) is excited to partner with the ISU School of Music for an Instrument Petting Zoo on Saturday, March 21, 11am-3pm at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum! Children of all ages (and adults!) are welcome to explore, play, and discover the world of music by trying a wide variety of orchestra instruments in a fun, welcoming environment. The event will take place on the third floor of the museum.
Attendees will be able to visit instrument stations in the brass, woodwind, string, and percussion families. Knowledgeable musicians and educators will be on hand to guide you, help you make your first sounds, and answer questions about how each instrument works.
The THSO String Quartet will also share a special demonstration and performance on March 21, 1:00pm-1:30pm, on the third floor of the museum which will include a sneak preview of the THSO’s upcoming John Williams Celebration concert on March 28 at Tilson Auditorium.
Music lovers of all ages are welcome to drop in anytime 11am-3pm to experience trying your favorite instrument! Admission is free to Terre Haute Children’s Museum members. Non-members can purchase low-cost admission for the family at www.thchildrensmuseum.com.
